Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City considering big-money approach to Fulham for Ross McCormack

HITC Sport understands that the ambitious second tier outfits are ready to test the resolve of a Championship rival in January.

Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City are both showing an interest in Fulham captain Ross McCormack, HITC Sport understands.

McCormack has been brilliant for the Cottagers since joining from Leeds United in a big-money deal back in 2014.

He was rewarded for his form earlier this year with a new three-year contract, but despite putting pen to paper only this season, it has not stopped rival interest.

And it is some of Fulham’s Championship rivals who are looking to take advantage of the fact that they look unlikely to be involved in the promotion picture, with Wednesday and Hull leading the chase.

Table topping Hull City are expected to expand their attacking options in January, and McCormack has emerged as one of their top targets.

And Wednesday are expected to be the biggest spenders outside the Premier League come the New Year, with their Thai owner Dejphon Chansiri ready to invest heavily and give big backing to Carlos Carvalhal.

Wednesday are known to be looking at a deal for Blackburn’s Jordan Rhodes, as revealed by HITC Sport, but that has not detracted from their interest in McCormack as they could comfortably afford to bring both in and if they did, that would certainly make them a formidable force in the second-half of the season.
