The former midfielder says the striker will score plenty of goals alongside Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino.
The Reds had endured a tough start to the campaign under Brendan Rodgers, with him quickly being replaced by Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
He has set about changing things in the side, enjoying a relatively strong start to his reign in England.
Saturday saw their best performance under him yet, as they thoroughly out played Manchester City to win 4-1 at the Etihad.
That display saw attacking trio Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana starring, and Redknapp says Sturridge will love playing with that trio.
“I can’t wait to see what he [Klopp] does now because they have great options off the bench,” he told TalkSport.
“If they get Sturridge up there as a striker, the amount of goals he will get if he plays in that system. He will love playing with those little midfield players behind him.”
Given how well Liverpool performed against Manchester City, there is an argument that Sturridge shouldn’t return to the Liverpool first team.
Given his injury record, it is fair to suggest a slow approach may be the best option for him, while it would also help to avoid disrupting the team in general.
He is though, arguably the best striker in the squad, and the one who would fit best into Klopp’s system, meaning the German may be tempted to throw him in immediately.
