The Costa Rican put in a fine performance in the 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday.
The forward has found game time hard to come by at the Emirates over the years, often finding himself out on loan to get first team action.
He has enjoyed an extended spell in the side in recent weeks though, with a number of injuries having hit Arsenal’s squad.
He was impressive in the 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with a fine assist for Alexis Sanchez demonstrating his abilities.
Wright was impressed with his display, saying the Costa Rican brings something different to the side.
“Joel Campbell gives Arsenal something a little bit different coming in off the wing,” he told BT Sport.
“He works back very well for the team and he’s very creative going forward for with a great left foot. It was a great pass for Alexis Sanchez.”
Given the solid displays Campbell has put in this season when given the chance, there is hope he could develop into a first team regular in future.
The talent is clearly there to see, but is still in need of refinement, something that more game time will give him.
With Theo Walcott having been used in a central striker role this season, there is also a chance in that right wing role for someone to grasp should they wish.
However, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are very much ahead of him in the pecking order at present, meaning he still has much to prove before he is a first team regular.
