Liverpool pulled off perhaps their best performance yet under Jurgen Klopp at the weekend - as they dismantled Manchester City on their home turf.
An own goal from Eliaquim Mangala got things rolling before strikes from Phillipe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Martin Skrtel then completed the rout after Sergio Aguero had earlier given Manchester City some hope.
The performance of the two Brazilian players in particular stunned City.
Coutinho's form has picked up since the appointment of Klopp and Firmino is also now fidning his best form.
The pair were in terrific form and combined on numerous occasions throughout the match - leaving the City defenders chasing headless chickens.
But whilst they took many of the plaudits the performance of German international Emre Can was perhaps the most impressive.
He had a tough week. He was part of the Germany squad that ended up staying in the Stade de France overnight after the horrible terrorist attacks in Paris and his nation then had a game in Hannover called off after another terrorist threat.
Emre Can might have been considered a defender under Brendan Rodgers but Klopp has him being more expressive than ever. He put in an excellent all-round performance but there is no doubt that his party-piece was his back-heel that started the move for the third goal.
Twitter was aghast at the weekend and Can is finally looking like the talent Liverpool fans hoped he could be.
Ahead of Liverpool's meeting with Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday night, here is what theor fans thought of Can's recent performance...
Emre Can's back heel is one of the best moments of the night. Loved it. Tried another that almost produced a goal too.— Peter McDowall (@Petermcdowall10) November 21, 2015
Can we please take a second to appreciate the genius of this backheel from Emre Can https://t.co/pjY99IlQZL— The_Lil_Magician (@Lil_Magician10) November 21, 2015
For Emre Can to have the week he did, to then come and give a performance like that, shows he's made of something special.— Ritchie (@JohnRitchie84) November 21, 2015
A joy to watch today. Emre Can was at the heart of so many great moves & the Brazilians were world class. pic.twitter.com/VIvBeNdIhP— LFC Round Up (@LFCroundup) November 21, 2015
For me, that was easily Emre Can's best game for Liverpool. Thought he was exceptional.— Tim Bolton (@timbolton1) November 21, 2015
Emre Can's backheels are so great.— LFC Fans Corner (@LFCFansCorner) November 21, 2015
Emre Can's backheels wears turtlenecks, smokes Marlboro Black, quotes Nietzsche, and Carl Sagan, and lucid dreams. #hipster— Liverpool FC 360 (@LFC_360) November 21, 2015
What a game Emre Can has had. Again, I got abuse for sticking up for him last week. "Average" some said. I feel happy now— Indigo (@IndigoLFC) November 21, 2015
