Gallery: Chelsea put themselves on track for Champions League knock-out stages

Chelsea ran out 4-0 winners against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Israel.

Chelsea put themselves in the perfect position to qualify from their Champions League group as winners after last night's 4-0 win against Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.

Gary Cahill opened the scoring for the Blues by stabbing home from close range after his initial header was saved before former Chelsea defender Tal Ben Haim was given his marching orders for kicking out at Diego Costa.

The second half saw chances for both teams with Asmir Begovic forced into a couple of fine saves before Chelsea were dealt a blow when John Terry was stretchered off with a foot injury.

They were soon smiling again, however, after Willian did what he does best by dispatching a free-kick to double the visitors' advantage.

Chelsea started to relax a little and play some of their best football, on what was a terrible playing surface, with Oscar getting on the scoresheet as he headed home from a cross from the left, while Kurt Zouma rounded off the scoring.

The destiny of Jose Mourinho's side is in their own hands, with their final group match against Porto at Stamford Bridge in a couple of weeks' time.
