The Sky Sports pundit was pleased to see Chelsea go top of their group.
Chelsea have not had the best of seasons, especially considering the expectations placed upon them as Premier League champions.
They have now moved to the top of their Champions League group after a comfortable 4-0 win in Israel against Maccabi Tel Aviv.
That win, coupled with Dynamo Kiev's surprise 2-0 victory against Porto in Portugal, saw Chelsea go to the top of the group with one game to spare.
Chelsea now just need a draw from their game with Porto at Stamford Bridge on the 9th to head into the next stage of the competition.
It was a performance that certainly belied their recent form in the Premier League and one former player and player-manager was very pleased to see the club get to the top of the Champions League group.
Glenn Hoddle was with Chelsea from 1993 until 1996 and he tweeted last night:
Good Win for Chelsea tonight . Only need a point to Qualify at the Bridge next game . Should be home and dry .— Glenn Hoddle (@GlennHoddle) November 24, 2015
Chelsea will however be hoping to take some of that European form into the Premier League. The Blues remain 15th in the league table with their title defence now gone.
Their next league game is against the flying Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will need a top result if they are to keep the likes of Hoddle appeased.
