Taking a look at three young Manchester United players who could head out on loan this week.
The January transfer window may still be someway off but that does not mean Manchester United will not be doing any business in terms of temporary outgoings in the next two days.
Football League clubs are still able to bring players in during the Emergency Loan window which closes later this week and here we discuss three United players who could be on the move:
James Weir is a 20-year-old left winger who has been training regularly with United’s first-team this season.
His position means he is always going to attract the obvious comparisons with a famous Welshman but Weir can also operate on the opposite flank or as an attacking midfielder if required and that versatility would make him an attractive option to many Football League clubs.
For a time it looked like United fans had seen the last of Uruguayan defender Guillermo Varela but the 22-year-old is now back training with the club and featuring for their under-21s.
Such is his talent and his impressive progress while on loan at Real Madrid Castilla last season that United manager Louis van Gaal may feel the time has come to see what he can do playing first-team football in England.
He may only be 18 but striker Marcus Rashford is making a name for himself at United, where he has scored three goals in three UEFA Youth League matches already this season.
That form saw him rewarded with a place on the bench for United’s Premier League clash with Watford last weekend and there could be a few lower league clubs who would not mind taking a short-term risk on the teenager.
