Everton signed Deulofeu from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, but one of the stipulations in the deal was that the La Liga could club buy him back for a set price.
With Deulofeu’s form so impressive, there are fears inside Everton’s camp that Barca could activate their buy-back clause at the end of the season.
And Nicholas feels that Luis Enrique’s side would be well served by bringing Deulofeu back to the Nou Camp, as his ability makes him a perfect fit for their style of play.
“I watch Barcelona now, and he’d fit right in there.” Nicholas said.
“He might not be straight in the team, but the way he plays with the ball [he’d fit in].
“The thing with him, that I really admire, is that he consistently wants the ball.”
Deulofeu has arguably been Everton’s best performer of the season so far, and he has caused defences numerous problems.
The Spanish winger has been the Toffees’ main architect in matches, and he has also chipped in with a few goals himself.
Deulofeu has stated recently, on the club's YouTube channel, that he intends to stay at Everton for the long-term, but it remains to be seen whether a move back to Barcelona would tempt him, if it was offered.
