It is a question often raised about English football, how come there are not more British Asians playing the professional game?

The lack of British-Asians in English football has often been seen as something of a problem in the game, with only a handful ever making it.

One young man who is however flying the flag is Aston Villa talent Easah Suliman - who was this week awarded with a prestigious accolade this week.

He was given the Young Footballer of the Year award at the Asian Football Awards at Wembley Stadium earlier in the week.

The 17-year-old British-Pakistani is considered one of the hottest prospects in the Villa youth set-up. The teenager is the first British Asian to captain England at any level and the practicing Muslim is a real role model for many like him to look up to.

Villa fans can be excited about his potential. The 17-year-old looks like a future star for England and Aston Villa and this might just be the first of many awards for the teenager.
