Rio Ferdinand said Arsenal's big money signings stepped up against Dinamo Zagreb.
Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil provided a masterclass as Arsenal saw off Dinamo Zagreb to earn all three points in their Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb.
Having been beaten 1-0 away from home in their opening group game by Zagreb, Arsenal came out as a side determined to prove a point, and registered their second Champions League win of the season.
Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil may have cost a combined £80 million, but they were worth every penny as they clinically dispatched of Zagreb, putting Arsenal in a commanding first half lead.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was impressed with their displays, taking to Twitter after the Gunners had gone 2-0 to express his acclaim for the duo, and commend the way they stepped up.

Big players scoring for Arsenal when they need them most....good start this...— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) November 24, 2015
Ozil and Sanchez performed superbly and deserve the credit they get. The other side of the coin however is to ask why this was not the case in the away game in Zagreb, and against Olympiakos at home.
They will be scrutinised more closely in what is likely to be a qualification decider away to the Greek side in a fortnight's time, and like it or not, if they fail to produce, such praise for their ability to deliver on the big stage tonight will turn into criticism - for a game which carries even more importance, comes even greater responsibility and pressure, and they need to continue to show they can handle it.
