Juventus have stormed ahead of Tottenham in the race to sign Breel Embolo, according to reports.
Goal.com claims that both clubs are interested in the Basel star, who has already helped himself to six goals in 16 appearances this season.
Embolo has built a reputation as one of Europe’s finest young talents after breaking into the Switzerland national team earlier this year, and Tottenham have apparently been in regular contact with the 18-year-old’s representatives since last summer.
However, Goal.com believes that Juventus are putting themselves in pole position for Embolo’s signature by sending a club official to watch Basel take on Fiorentina in the Europa League this week.
It is said that Embolo is keen on a move to Turin, although Juventus may be forced to pay more than £21 million to complete a deal.
The report adds that Tottenham are still very much interested in the teen sensation, with Mauricio Pochettino apparently ready to drop his interest in West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino in order to bring Embolo to White Hart Lane.
