Huddersfield Town have agreed a deal to re-sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer on loan before the close of the loan window, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Steer enjoyed a two-month loan spell at Huddersfield earlier this season after being drafted in for the injured Joe Murphy.
The 23-year-old impressed during his stint at the John Smith's Stadium, making 10 appearances for Huddersfield before his loan ended at the start of November.
Huddersfield have conceded six goals in their last two games since Steer returned to Aston Villa and new Terriers boss David Wagner is ready to sanction a move to bring the former Norwich man back to the club.
Steer, who recently signed a new long-term deal at Villa, is well down the pecking order at Villa Park with Brad Guzan and Mark Bunn ahead of him in the pecking order.
Villa boss Remi Garde is happy to loan out Steer so that he can get valuable first-team experience under his belt.
Steer is expected to go straight into the Huddersfield side for this weekend's clash with high-flying Middlesbrough.
