Manchester United had some interesting players in first-team training this week.
Manchester United’s players have been put through their paces as they prepare for their Champions League qualifying match against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday evening.
United are currently top of Group B with seven points from their first four matches but, with PSV and Wolfsburg just a point behind, Louis van Gaal’s side have plenty of work to do.
A victory against the Dutch club at Old Trafford would secure a place in the knockout stages but PSV proved in the reverse fixture that they are a tough nut to crack, ultimately running out 2-1 winners on the night Luke Shaw suffered his horrific injury.
United will be looking to turn the tables this time round and they will be boosted by the return from injury and illness respectively of strikers Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney.
Both players took part in training on Tuesday afternoon, along with young midfielder Nick Powell, who many United fans will be forgiven for forgetting after so long out of the fold.
Andreas Pereira, Guillermo Varela and summer signing Regan Poole also took to the training field but only the former is likely to feature in the match-day squad.
