Moussa Sissoko speaks of angry Newcastle United and Steve McClaren

Newcastle United were beaten 3-0 by Leicester City in their latest outing.

Moussa Sissoko has told the Chronicle that the entire Newcastle United squad, and manager Steve McClaren, felt angry after their defeat to Leicester City.

Newcastle were beaten 3-0 by Leicester in their most recent Premier League outing, in what was a damaging setback.

The Foxes have been flying this season, but it was worrying to see Newcastle pose so little threat in front of their own supporters.

And Sissoko said: “We are angry because we didn’t play well in this game.

“We lost every duel, every tackle and everything was not good enough.

“The manager was angry and disappointed after the game.”

Newcastle had gone into the match with some momentum beginning to build behind them, after an improvement in recent weeks, but any optimism that was being felt around St. James’ Park has been shattered.

Leicester were thoroughly dominant in the contest, and Newcastle’s flaws were horribly exposed.

It leaves McClaren with much to ponder, as he looks to guide Newcastle away from danger.

At the moment the Magpies are one point clear of the drop-zone, but they will need to improve quickly if they are to ensure that they stay out of trouble.
