Former Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Iwan Roberts has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Derby County will not finish in the top two of the Championship this season.
Derby are fourth in the league table at the moment with 33 points from 17 matches, just two points behind leaders Hull City.
Although Roberts seems to rate the Rams highly, he does not fancy them to pick up an automatic promotion spot at the end of the season.
@iwanwroberts how do Derby look Iwan? Such a strong squad, should sure be pushing for auto promotion cone May.— Andrew Kent (@Kenty1985) November 21, 2015
Good side won't be far off top 2 buddy https://t.co/CPm7HiIvlc— Iwan Roberts (@iwanwroberts) November 21, 2015
Derby have one of the best squads in the Championship, and they are aiming for a top-two finish in the table this season. That will allow Paul Clement’s team to get automatic promotion to the Premier League.
It will not be easy for the Rams, as the likes of Hull, Brighton & Hove Albion, Middlesbrough and Burley are all competiting for the top-two spots.
Derby, who defeated Cardiff City at the iPro Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon, will face Hull away from home at the KC Stadium on Friday evening.
