Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor has not made an appearance since the start of November.
Agbonlahor has picked up a calf injury, which has kept him out of action since the start of the month.
However, Garde is hoping that the attacker will be back in the near future, to enhance his attacking options.
"Gabby is still working to be back after his calf injury," Garde said.
"He is working hard on his fitness and as soon as he can be with us, he will be."
Agbonlahor has not played for Villa since Garde took charge, but reports have emerged suggesting that the Frenchman may not be a big fan of the 29-year-old.
According to the Daily Mirror, Agbonlahor could be let go by Villa in the January transfer window.
Agbonlahor has not been in good form this season, and Villa apparently feel that they would be well served by cashing in on the forward.
Agbonlahor has failed to score in his nine appearances so far this term, so he will be hoping that he can find the net quickly, when he does return to fitness.
