Crystal Palace will take on Newcastle United in Premier League action on Saturday.
Wickham started for Palace against Sunderland yesterday evening, but he failed to show his potential in a 1-0 defeat.
The 22-year-old forward did not pose Sunderland much threat throughout the contest, but Pardew has confirmed that he will stick by his summer signing.
"It was Connor’s first [start] back today and he was maybe lacking a bit of sharpness," Pardew said. "But he has another chance on Saturday to see if he can get back to it."
Palace have had difficulties finding a potent striker this season, with much their attacking options failing to fully establish their place in the starting line-up.
Pardew has regularly utilised wingers up-front, while the likes of Dwight Gayle and Frazier Campbell haven’t scored frequently enough to claim the striking spot.
Wickham has only recently returned from injury, and he will hope that his form improves as he gains more match-sharpness.
Palace are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table, but a win on Saturday could lift them into the top-six.
