Tyler Roberts scores twice for West Brom's U18s including 30-second opener

West Brom - The Hawthorns

The young West Bromwich Albion player impressed at the weekend.

Young West Bromwich Albion forward Tyler Roberts scored twice for the Baggies’ under-18 side on Saturday as they ran out 3-1 winners against their Stoke City counterparts.

The 17-year-old is one of the most exciting players in West Brom’s academy right now and at the weekend he continued to prove why, scoring just 30 seconds into the match against the Potters and doubling his tally in first-half injury-time.

In between Roberts’ two strikes James Smith also found the net but all eyes were on the former as the Welsh under-17 international came close to taking home the match ball.

As well as doing the business for West Brom’s under-18s Roberts has also featured 20 times for their under-21s, scoring three goals and providing two assists to date.

West Brom’s senior side enjoyed a fine win of their own at the weekend when they overcame Arsenal 2-1 at The Hawthorns, and it will be interesting to see if Roberts can break into Tony Pulis’s first-team sooner rather than later.
