Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is already planning for his first transfer window in charge of the Reds, and a report in France Football claims he has identified a player that he believes will improve his playing squad.
Sofiane Boufal of Lille has been one of the best players in France this season, and Liverpool are tracking the young winger, with the report claiming the Merseyside club hold a good relationship with Lille following the transfer of Divock Origi last summer.
However, Liverpool do face competition for Boufal, with the report claiming both PSG and Spurs also want to sign the 22-year-old.
Spurs have been keen on Boufal since the summer transfer window, with Mercato365 reporting two months ago that the Lilywhites missed out on him on deadline day. An offer submitted to Lille was rejected by the French club, but the report claims Spurs are ready to make a new bid in January.
Who is Sofiane Boufal?
Liverpool are targeting Boufal on the back of the fantastic season he has been enjoying with Lille, with the 22-year-old Moroccan winger one of the best players in Ligue 1 this term.
He has scored four goals in 12 games, playing as both a winger and centre-forward, and currently ranks highly in the division for his attacking output.
His four dribbles completed per game is the second highest in the league, whilst he ranks fifth for key passes per game - with 2.8. He is also the most fouled player in the division, and is always looking to move forward when he has the ball.
Boufal looks to have a wealth of potential, and he is already going someway to fulfil his obvious talent, and Liverpool should go all out to steal him ahead of PSG and Spurs.
