Manchester United's forgotten man Nick Powell made his long awaited comeback for the under-21 side on Monday night.
Powell started as the under-21 side lost to Norwich City, with the Canaries starting Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 qualifying rounds top scorer Kyle Lafferty.
The youngster was highly rated when Sir Alex Ferguson took the decision to sign him in 2012 from Crewe Alexandra, and after scoring on his debut, has struggled ever since.
David Moyes did not see Powell as a viable option, sending him on loan to Wigan where he impressed, but last season was the real disaster for the midfielder.
He moved on loan to Leicester City, but could not break into the team, and earlier this year picked up an injury which would keep him sidelined.
The Mirror even reported last month that Powell was growing disillusioned with the game, and looking forward to his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Now he is fit, he has one last chance to make a go of it at the Red Devils, and last night was the first step in doing so.
Louis van Gaal has handed opportunities to Jesse Lingard this season, and if Powell can put together a run of games and form for the under-21 side, it is not impossible that he could salvage his United career still.
Here is a look at how fans reacted on twitter to seeing him back in action...
