Wednesday ran out 3-1 winners over Huddersfield, but the victory was far from a comfortable one.
The Terriers were leading until the latter stages of the match, when Joao’s introduction turned the game on its head.
Huddersfield had dealt with Wednesady’s threat well up until Carlos Carvalhal used his substitutions – but after those changes, a Joao double and a Kieran Lee strike saw the Owls pick up the three points.
And Hunt said: "Lucas, in particular, came on and gave us a great outlet up front with his fresh legs. Two great goals, and that’s what strikers get paid for. They are match-winners.”
Wednesday’s win over Huddersfield has further confirmed their potential to be promotion contenders this season, after making an impressive start.
Carvalhal’s side have lost just one of their last 13 matches in the Championship, and they are now only one point away from the top six.
Wednesday’s next fixtures comes against Blackburn Rovers, who have recently appointed Paul Lambert as their manager.
