The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was brilliant at the weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur had a lot of heroes in their 4-1 victory against West Ham United on Sunday.
Most notable were the goal-scorers, with Harry Kane scoring a brace to maintain his brilliant recent form, while defenders Toby Alderweireld and Kyle Walker also found the back of the net.
Midfielder Mousa Dembele was another player who shone for Tottenham, but arguably their unsung hero was Eric Dier, whose individual statistics speak of a player who went about his business brilliantly.
|Passing Accuracy||Tackle Accuracy||Duels Won||Aerials Won||Interceptions Won||Effective Clearances||Dispossessed||Ball Recoveries||Mins Played|
Against West Ham, the 21-year-old had a passing accuracy of 79 per cent while he won 100 per cent of his attempted tackles.
Dier also won seven duels, two aerial battles and three interceptions, while he recovered the ball on seven occasions and was not dispossessed all afternoon.
With two effective clearances to boot, it was clear Tottenham had Dier to thank for being able to push forward at the opposite end of the field, and on this evidence the youngster is only going to get better in the months ahead.
