Crystal Palace-owned Jack Hunt targets top-six finish for Sheffield Wednesday

Jack Hunt joined Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan deal from Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.

Crystal Palace-owned Sheffield Wednesday defender Jack Hunt has been quoted as saying by The Sheffield Telegraph that his side are targeting a top-six finish in the Championship this season.

Hunt, who joined Wednesday on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Palace in the summer transfer window, believes that the Owls can claim a playoff spot.

“We want to be in the top six, that would be a massive achievement for the club,” The Sheffield Telegraph quotes the 24-year-old as saying. “The next challenge would be to stay there.

“We know there’s a lot of hard work, a busy fixture list in December, it breaks up the top teams and those that drop away. We just need to stay in there.”

Wednesday are having a good season and are very much in the running for a top-six finish in the Championship.

The Owls are eighth in the league table at the moment with 27 points from 17 matches, just a point behind Birmingham City, who are currently sixth and occupy the final playoff spot.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side are playing good football, and the players seem to be enjoying themselves.

For Wednesday to end up in the top six, they need to maintain consistency in their game and avoid going through a spell where they drop points they shouldn’t.
