HITC Sport understands Bury forward Ryan Lowe is poised to join Crewe Alexandra on loan.
Crewe Alexandra are set to raid League One rivals Bury to sign sign experienced striker Ryan Lowe on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Crewe boss Steve Davis is desperate to bolster his attacking options before the loan window cloes with the Alex rock bottom of the table.
Crewe have scored just 15 goals all season and Davis has idenitified Lowe as the man who can grab the goals to boost his side's survival bid.
Lowe finds himself down the pecking order at Gigg Lane with the club riding high in League One and boss David Flitcroft reluctant to change a winning team.
Flitcroft is happy to loan out Lowe who has made one brief appearance for the Shakers this season and a number of clubs are thought to have expressed an interest in the former Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons star.
The 37-year-old is happy to go out on loan to get back playing so that he can regain his fitness after recovering from injury which has held him back so far this season.
Lowe, who is set to join Crewe on loan until January, enjoyed a spell at the club between 2006 and 2008 and has scored nearly 200 goals in his career to date.
