The former goalkeeper says that Petr Cech must start all of their Champions League games from now on.
Cech was signed by Arsenal from rivals Chelsea in the summer in a deal that was lauded by many.
The Czech Republic international has proved to be a big hit at the Emirates Stadium, with a series of impressive displays already under his belt.
Cech is now the undisputed number one in Arsene Wenger’s side, with his display in the 2-0 against Bayern Munich having cemented that status.
Seaman believes that the 33-year-old is among the best in the world in the position, hailing the calmness he brings to the defence.
“To me, Cech is top class. He’s up there with the best in the world,” the Mirror quotes him saying.
“He’s a quality goalkeeper who brings calmness to the defence. Cech is not an erratic goalkeeper. He doesn’t make many mistakes. When you’ve got somebody like that behind you it makes defenders a lot more confident.”
The former Arsenal star has also said that Cech must be the number one for all of the side’s remaining Champions League fixtures.
Wenger’s side face an uphill task to make the latter stages of the competition, after losing their first two games against Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos.
After beating and then losing to Bayern Munich, they must now defeat those two teams to have any chance of making the latter stages once again.
David Ospina started both opening game and came in for widespread criticism for his performances, and Seaman has said that Cech must start their last two pivotal games until they are mathematically out.
“You would think Petr should play in all the Champions League games now until Arsenal are mathematically out of it,” he added.
“Ospina’s been injured. He played in the first two and didn’t have the best of games in the second game. What made Ospina stay at Arsenal? That’s not really been answered.”
