Adrian has apologised to West Ham United supporters on Twitter after their 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
Adrian was in goal for the Hammers as they were torn apart by Spurs at White Hart Lane.
West Ham’s performance in the London derby fell short of the standards they have set for themselves so far this season, and Adrian has admitted his disappointment on social media.
Bad & hard result today!Just say sorry to all West Ham fans, without a doubt we will keep working harder & improving for the next⚒ #Adr13n— Adrián San Miguel (@AdriSanMiguel) November 22, 2015
Adrian was largely blameless for West Ham’s defeat, even if he could have done better with Harry Kane’s second goal, as he stopped the scoreline from being even heavier.
The Spanish stopper actually made a number of excellent saves over the course of the match, but he could not stop Spurs.
A double from Kane, as well as goals from Kyle Walker and Toby Alderweireld meant than Manuel Lanzini’s late strike was nothing but a consolation, and condemned the Hammers to a damaging defeat.
Slaven Bilic’s side have been challenging in the upper echelons of the Premier League table so far this season, but they now sit five points away from the top-four places.
