West Bromwich Albion defeated Arsenal 2-1 at The Hawthorns in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has told the club’s official website that he is thankful to the fans for maintaining their faith in the team until the final minutes on Saturday afternoon.

The Baggies returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a narrow 2-1 victory over Arsenal at The Hawthorns.

The Gunners took the lead in the 35th minute through Olivier Giroud, who headed in Mesut Ozil's free kick from the right.

James Morrison volleyed past Petr Cech to restore parity on 35 minutes, before Mikel Arteta diverted James McClean's cross into his own net.

Santi Cazorla could have secured a point for Arsenal from the penalty spot, but he slipped at the crucial moment.

Pulls has thanked the West Brom supporters for helping them throughout the 90 minutes against the Gunners.

“I'd like to particularly thank the Albion fans - they really helped us during the final 10 minutes or so,” the 57-year-old told West Brom’s official website.

“It was a tough period but they stuck with us. I think there have been games where we've been disappointed that we lost so we'll definitely take this.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at The Hawthorns, hosts West Brom had just 27% of the possession, took four shots of which just one was on target, and earned three corners.

Arsenal had 73% of the possession, took 11 shots of which only three were on target, and earned five corners.
