Should Celtic bring Anthony Stokes back into the first-team fold?

The Bhoys look short of ideas in front of goal and some fans want the forgotten 27-year-old back in the side.

Celtic's lack of ideas in the final third has left fans underwhelmed for quite some time.

Europa League failure had been put to one side by a few encouraging domestic performances but, against Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon, the Bhoys looked woeful going forward.

After the 0-0 draw, supporters were disappointed with the likes of Nadir Ciftci and Gary Mackay-Steven.

And a number of fans took to Twitter expressing concern about Celtic's front line.

Leigh Griffiths aside, is it good enough? Carlton Cole is yet to come in but his impact isn't guaranteed. Ciftci, meanwhile, is the subject of fear from Celtic fans - fear that he will never be good enough for the Scottish champions.

But Celtic do have a forward left in reserve going completely unused... Anthony Stokes.

Ronny Deila and the Celtic man clearly don't see eye to eye but a lot of supporters seem to want the forgotten 27-year-old back in the fold.

If the Bhoys can't break down Kilmarnock, how will they break down their closest title rivals and - even if just for two more games - their European rivals?

Stokes was criticised for his Celtic form in the past but would he really be any worse than Ciftci right now? It might be time to bury the hatchet for Deila...
