Vardy equalled the Premier League record for consecutive goals by scoring in a 10th successive match as Leicester beat Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Newcastle fans showed their respect towards the England international striker, and Schmeichel has thanked them for their gesture on Twitter.

Vardy put visiting Leicester in the lead on the stroke of half time, and Leonardo Ulloa and Shinji Okazaki added the second and the third goals in the 62nd and the 83rd minute respectively.
Claudio Ranieri’s side are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 28 points from 13 matches.
The Foxes are a point ahead of second-placed Manchester United and two clear of Manchester City and Arsenal, who are third and fourth respectively in the standings.
