George Thorne was on target for Derby County against Cardiff City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Derby County fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to George Thorne’s performance against Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams defeated Cardiff 2-0 at the iPro Stadium to return to winning ways in the Championship, thanks to goals from Thorne and Andreas Weimann.

Thorne, who struggled with injuries for most of last season, started the encounter and played for the entire 90 minutes.

The 22-year-old former West Bromwich Albion midfielder took four shots, had a pass accuracy of 92%, created one chance, attempted one dribble, won 43% of his tackles and 50% of his headers, and made three interceptions, two clearances and five clearances.

Paul Clement’s side are fourth in the Championship table at the moment with 33 points from 17 matches, just two points behind leaders Hull City.
