Riise, a former Liverpool defender himself, made the comments following the Reds’ 4-1 victory over Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Croatia international centre-back started the Premier League game and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Lovren took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 75%, won 50% of his tackles and 75% of his headers, and made five interceptions, eight headers and two blocks.
Riise was seemingly impressed with the performance of the 26-year-old and has suggested that he looks more confident this season that he did during the 2014-15 campaign.
Was not Lovrens biggest fan last year. He was not good then. Different player this year. Confidence is much higher.— John Arne Riise (@JARiiseOfficial) November 21, 2015
@JARiiseOfficial Do you feel Kolo will be a Liverpool player next season?— Akash Nair (@TheAkashNair9) November 21, 2015
