The Forest Gump star does not let the results get him down.
Aston Villa are certainly being put through the ringer this season. Tim Sherwood was recently sacked as Villa toiled at the wrong end of the Premier League table. Remi Garde has been brought in but after promising signs against Manchester City before the international break the former Arsenal midfielder was swiftly brought back down to earth today.
Everton defeated Villa 4-0 at Goodison Park today - heaping the misery on Villa fans as the fear of relegation becomes increasingly real at Villa Park.
It is certainly a tough time to be a fan, of which Villa have several famous names.
The likes of Robert De Niro, David Cameron and Prince Harry are all believed to be supporters of the club.
Another man who follows Villa's fortunes is Tom Hanks. The Apollo 13 and Forest Gump actor is however taking the current bad form on the chin.
He is quoted by the Birmingham Mail as stating this week:
"Listen. Rooting for a football team is a life lesson, the ups are ups and the downs are downs, you've just got to roll with them."
That is certainly a brave face to put on it.
However he is a fairly impressive actor, maybe he is just faking it.
