Report: Barcelona watching Everton’s games this season to scout Deulofeu and Stones

The La Liga side are reportedly monitoring Gerard Deulofeu and John Stones.

Barcelona have watched all of Everton’s game this season to keep an eye on key duo John Stones and Gerard Deulofeu, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Defender Stones has fast become one of the hottest properties in Europe over the last few years, with a number of impressive displays put in under Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park.

He has already caught the eye of Europe’s top teams, with Chelsea repeatedly knocked back over the summer - as covered by Sky Sports - and Barcelona now said to be monitoring his progress.

Back in October, Mundo Deportivo reported that the Catalans were keen on the England starlet, and that hasn’t changed, with them reportedly watching all of Everton’s games this season..

He is not the only young Everton star they are watching, though, with Gerard Deulofeu also a focus of their attention, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The young winger joined the Blues on a permanent deal in the summer, but the La Liga champions retain an option to buy him back.

Manager Roberto Martinez revealed that this week, with the Guardian quoting the Everton boss as saying that they can re-sign hi, for £6.3m at the end of the season.

His development is likely to have impressed them as well, having put in several top performances so far.

Whether Barcelona return to Goodison Park with firm offers for both players next summer, though, remains to be seen.
