David Gold raves about exceptional Diafra Sakho

David Gold speaks highly of West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has been singing the praises of Diafra Sakho on the club’s official website.

Sakho has recovered from a thigh problem and is set to feature against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Sunday.

Gold rates the 25-year-old Senegal international highly and has explained what makes him different from the rest of the strikers in the Premier League.

“Sakho is an exceptional player and I don't think there is another striker in the Premier League who covers as much ground as he does,” the 79-year-old wrote on West Ham’s official website. “He is not just a goalscorer and works so hard for the team.”

Sakho joined West Ham from French club Metz in the summer of 2014 and has established himself as one of the more important players in the team.

The Senegal international scored 10 goals and created 23 chances in 23 Premier League appearances for the Hammers last season.

So far this campaign, the striker has scored three goals and created six chances in 10 league matches.

West Ham are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 21 points from 12 matches, just three points behind fourth-place Manchester United.
