David Gold gives his verdict on Mauricio Pochettino

The West Ham co-owner has been discussing the Tottenham boss and squad.

West Ham United co-owner David Gold has heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino - as well as his squad, according to the club's official website.

West Ham travel to White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon for a heavily anticipated Premier League clash and London derby.

And Gold is aware Tottenham will not provide an easy test for the east London side. He insists West Ham will be full of confidence and optimism but is a fan of a Tottenham side that have 'performed well,' as well as head coach Pochettino.

Gold told the West Ham site: "It will not be easy against a Tottenham side who have performed well this season and have a good squad of players and a good manager. But we got there full of optimism and confident that we can come away with a positive result."

It's a shame Dimitri Payet is currently out injured for West Ham, of course. No matter how good Tottenham have been so far this season, the Hammers have beaten all of Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal on their travels.

Without the Frenchman, Slaven Bilic will likely go far more defensive than usual. But a result certainly isn't out of reach for West Ham.

Spurs will have the momentum and home advantage. Gold is right to anticipate a tough test - but anything can happen in a London derby.
