Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has explained on Coral.co.uk how Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli will feel heading into this weekend’s Premier League game against West Ham United.
Alli is expected to start for Tottenham against West Ham at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
“You can’t tell me that Dele Alli will be going back to Spurs tired, he will want to put on his boots and play as soon as possible,” former Newcastle striker Shearer wrote on Coral.co.uk.
“He will bursting with confidence, bursting with pride and will be desperate to get out on a football pitch and show what he can do again.”
Alli is enjoying a breakthrough season at Tottenham, and he continued his good form on international duty with England.
The 19-year-old midfielder scored a wonderful goal for the Three Lions against France in a friendly international at London’s Wembley Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The youngster’s overall performance was very encouraging, and one suspects that he will be keen on getting back to action on Sunday.
The former Milton Keynes Dons midfielder is one of the most promising young players in the Premier League, and his importance for Tottenham will only grow as the season progresses.
Alli has scored two goals and created nine chances in 11 Premier League appearances for Spurs so far this campaign.
The teenager has a pass accuracy of 78% and a shot accuracy of 67%, and has won seven headers, 11 dribbles and 23 tackles.
