Greg Leigh spent just over a decade on the books at the Etihad before moving to Bradford City, where he proved the difference against Aldershot.
The plethora of full-back options at Manchester City meant that it was always likely that youth academy star Greg Leigh would struggle to force his way into the first-team picture.
But the 21-year-old Manchester-born youngster showed himself to be a classy operator for Bradford City in their televised FA Cup replay against Aldershot.
A defender by trade, Leigh showed another string to his bow against the Vanarama Conference side with a delightful chip that would be worthy of any Premier League fixture.

The opening goal in a 2-0 victory for the Bantams, Leigh will be looking to impress with the Yorkshire side this season, having signed a one-year deal with the club following his release by City.
A former England under-19 international with four caps to his name, on the basis of this goal alone, this could yet be the start of big things for a player who may not have given up on playing in the top-flight just yet.
Once with lowly Sale United, Leigh could yet be one youngster Manchester City are left regretting letting go.
