Steve Evans confirms Charlie Taylor will be back in full training next week

One of Leeds United's standout performers this season will soon be back in action.

Leeds United manager Steve Evans has been speaking to the club’s official website about one of his key players.

Charlie Taylor has been brilliant for Leeds this season but a recent injury setback means the 22-year-old has missed the last six Championship matches.

However, the latest international break has aided his recovery and the left-back will soon be available once more…even if Saturday’s clash against Rotherham United may come a little too soon.

Speaking about Taylor this week, Evans said, “He’ll be back in full training from Monday. He’s on the grass every day now.

“He’s doing part of the group activity and probably by the end of the week he will be doing 70 per cent of what the group is. On Monday he will be doing 100 per cent.”

That is great news for Leeds fans who have seen Taylor seize his chance last season and quickly become one of the team’s star performers.

Gaetano Berardi has done a good job in Taylor’s absence but Evans can surely not have the latter back soon enough, such has been his impact to date.

Leeds are seeking their third straight Championship win when they take on Rotherham at the weekend, but it seems Taylor will have to wait for the next match – against Queens Park Rangers the following weekend – to get back to doing what he loves.
