The Romanian had a good career in his homeland.

Southampton defender Florin Gardos today reminisced about happier times during his time with former club Steaua Bucharest. He posted this message on his Twitter account earlier today:

Gardos had a great time with the Romanian giants and won some silverware as well. He won the Romanian Cup and Super Cup once a piece and the Romanian Liga I on two occasions.

Times at Southampton have been tougher.

Gardos has impressed in his brief appearances for The Saints and seems happy in his current club. His situation has not been ideal/

His appearances have been limited as he has suffered some nasty injury issues in his time at St Mary's Stadium. Gardos, who signed from Steaua Bucharest for a fee reported by the BBC to be in the region of £6 million in August 2014, most recently suffered a serious knee injury in a pre-season friendly against Feyenoord and is out of action until next year.

The 26-year-old central defender is therefore on the sidelines and is not taking part for either Southampton or the Romanian national team, for whom he has 14 caps.

But he recently posted a picture of himself online kicking a ball once again so it seems a recovery is on the horizon.

Here's hoping he can lift some silverware with Southampton in the near future.
