Merson predicts Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham

Paul Merson predicts a Tottenham win over West Ham this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham meet this weekend in a London derby which could be pivotal for both team's seasons.

The two clubs are currently tied on points, and are looking to each kick on with a confidence boosting victory at White Hart Lane.

West Ham produced terrific away form this season, winning away to Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool, but lost on the road to Watford in their last match.

Former Premier League midfielder Paul Merson believes the Hammers will struggle to get a win this weekend, telling SkySports he predicts Tottenham Hotspur will win 2-1.

He said: "They [West Ham] lost at Watford and drew at home to Everton. They can't just turn up and expect to beat teams, nobody can do that this season. It is so unpredictable. And without Dimitri Payet we will see how Bilic adapts, he has been a huge player for them this season.

"Tottenham have been outstanding of late, and were brilliant at the Emirates the other week, and I can see them stealing this one."

This season Spurs rank fourth in the Premier League in terms of home results, according to, unbeaten at White Hart Lane with three wins and three draws from six games.

Despite their loss to Watford, West Ham's away form is the second best in the league, picking up 13 points on their travels - defeated just the once - with only Arsenal recording more.
