Aaron Cresswell and Danny Rose are two players who are unfortunate to be playing at a time when England are blessed with left-backs.

Several years ago their performances would have been good enough to see them become regulars in Roy Hodgson's squads, but instead they have found opportunities hard to come by, even with injuries to Luke Shaw and Leighton Baines, and Ashley Cole's international retirement.

The pair face off this weekend when Tottenham face off against West Ham in a huge London derby, with the two sides currently level on points in the Premier League.

Danny Rose has reclaimed his place in the Tottenham side from Welsh international Ben Davies, and is expected to start this weekend.

This season he has substantially outperformed West Ham counterpart Aaron Cresswell when it comes to winning tackles, recording an average of 3.4 per game opposed to 0.67.

Hammers ace Cresswell though comes out superior in terms of interceptions, aerial duels won, creating chances, and passing accuracy.

Both players have been largely error free, and for Rose this is a big improvement in his game considering how he has let himself down with silly mistakes in previous seasons.
