Could West Ham United unleash their creative winger against Tottenham Hotspur?
The 25-year-old arrived at Upton Park from Championship side Nottingham Forest in the summer, having scored 15 goals and 14 assists last season, but he has made only one 30-minute appearance for West Ham to date and that was back in August against Manchester City.
Since then Antonio has been an unused substitute in five of West Ham’s last six league games, not making the match-day squad on the other occasion, but Sullivan has hinted that the winger could soon get a chance to show what he can do.
“We have so many options now and surely that has to be a good thing,” Gold told Claret & Hugh. “His time will come. It may even be on Sunday at some stage.”
West Ham take on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this weekend, as both sets of players return to domestic matters after the latest international break, and Slaven Bilic will know his side have the ability to get another famous away victory under their belts.
With Dimitri Payet and Enner Valencia both out injured, Bilic may well call on Antonio to make his mark, and if he scores or assists the winner he will go down as an instant hero among the fans who have had to wait patiently for his introduction.
