Barcelona star Ivan Rakitic has told The Telegraph that he is a big fan of Slaven Bilic, and subsequently wants West Ham United to win the Premier League title.
Rakitic, 26, has become one of the top midfielders in Europe over the last couple of years, and capped off his rise to stardom by scoring the opening goal in the Champions League final last season, as Barcelona beat Juventus 3-1.
This weekend, Rakitic will take on Barcelona's fierce rivals Real Madrid in the famous El Clasico game, and whilst he is busy preparing for that clash, he has surprisingly taken the time to look at West Ham.
Rakitic played under Hammers boss Slaven Bilic in the Croatia national team setup, and the midfielder has explained to The Telegraph just why he loves his fellow Croatian.
Rakitic went further, stating that due to his relationship with Bilic, he wants to see West Ham defy the odds and win the Premier League title this season.
"I really like the Premier League, I like it a lot," said Rakitic. "Because of Slaven Bilic. He was my coach for six, seven years with Croatia and he’s really enjoying it [in England]."
"First of all he’s crazy for the Premier League and he likes West Ham a lot. And he likes rock and roll! He’s a big person, a big personality and I wish him all the best and I hope that West Ham win the Premier League," he added.
Winning the title may be a little too much for West Ham this season, but Bilic has already shown that he can have the club pushing towards the upper echelons of the Premier League table.
With wins over Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City already this season, West Ham head in to this weekend's game against Tottenham knowing that they can beat anybody on their day - and whilst they may not win the title, European qualification is certainly within their grasp this season.
