Ardiles praises England trio Dier, Alli and Kane after France match

The Tottenham Hotspur great certainly believes in the club's current generation.

Former Tottenham Hotspur player and manager Ossie Ardiles has taken to Twitter to have his say on the club’s current England internationals.

Roy Hodgson’s side took on France in a friendly at Wembley on Tuesday evening and Tottenham were well represented with Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Harry Kane all starting.

It was a particularly memorable night for Alli, with the 19-year-old scoring the opening goal of the game to mark yet another outstanding achievement in what has been his breakthrough campaign.

Dier also looked solid in midfield while Kane impressed with his work rate despite failing to get on the score-sheet himself.

The three represent the future of both their club and their country and it will be interesting to see the trio develop under Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino in the years ahead.

Writing on social media on Wednesday afternoon, Ardiles said, “Eric Dier (is) in my opinion the best Spurs player so far this season. Dele Alli bossed the midfield (and) Harry, last year people would say he scores goals, but not only (that now).”

Ardiles is right in his appraisal of the players and now they return to their club as Tottenham prepare for their vital league match against West Ham United on Sunday.
