West Ham United winger Michail Antonio has told the club's official website that he 'can't wait' to play against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
Antonio, 25, secured a deadline day move from Nottingham Forest to Upton Park, having smashed 19 goals in 54 games for the Championship club in just over a year at the City Ground.
With exceptional pace and power, Antonio was seen as a player who bring a real spark to the West Ham attack, but he has endured a slow start to his career with the Hammers.
Antonio has played just 30 minutes of Premier League football with West Ham having come on as a substitute against Manchester City, and fans have been wondering when Antonio can make a big impact with the club.
This weekend could be Antonio's moment, as West Ham travel to White Hart Lane to take on Tottenham Hotspur in a big London derby.
Antonio could take part in his first Tottenham-West Ham derby this weekend, and has told the club's official website that, having played in a number of big derby matches in his career already, he can't wait to take on Spurs - if he is selected for the match.
"I’ve been part of quite a few derbies, my first ever game for Sheffield Wednesday was the Steel City derby, I’ve been in the Southampton v Portsmouth derby and the Nottingham Forest v Derby County derby," said Antonio. "They are always great matches to be involved with so I can’t wait to be involved in the Tottenham v West Ham derby," he added.
With playmaker Dimitri Payet out injured for three months, manager Slaven Bilic could choose to move Manuel Lanzini in to the middle of the park, giving Antonio the chance to play out wide - and he could certainly cause the Spurs defence some problems if he makes his first Premier League start.
