Report: Norwich City make offer for Simone Zaza, hope for loan signing

Norwich City are hoping to sign Simone Zaza, also linked with Watford.

According to a report by Tuttosport, Norwich City have opened talks with Juventus concerning the January signing of Simone Zaza, with a view to taking him on loan for six months.

Zaza, who joined Juventus from Sassuolo over the summer, has struggled to establish himself in the first-team son the Serie A giants. The 24-year-old has played just eight games, scoring only one goal, and is reportedly keen on getting more game time to his name ahead of the 2016 European Championship.

An Italian international, capped seven times, the forward wants to be playing consistently to ensure he can secure a place in the Italian squad next summer.

These doubts about his Juve career have led Zaza to consider a move away in January, and Norwich are ready to move for his services. They are hoping to tie Zaza up on a loan deal until the end of the campaign, with Alex Neil keen to improve their goalscoring fortunes - the Canaries have netted just 16 goals this term.

Juve are said to be considering Zaza’s future, as they are not overly keen on loaning out the forward, but they may change their stance if Zaza forces a move away from Turin.

If Zaza does become available, Norwich will face competition from one of their Premier League rivals. TMW reported earlier this week that Watford are also tracking the forward ahead of the January window, with his future at Juve under threat.
