Report: Callum Robinson's loan spell at Bristol City could end prematurely

Bristol City

The Aston Villa youngster has not played since the start of October.

One of Aston Villa's more promising prospects is 20-year-old forward Callum Robinson.

The England under-20 international spent last season on loan at Preston North End and this campaign is scheduled to be with Championship newcomers Bristol City until the end of the season.

However things have not gone to plan for him at Ashton Gate. He has played just the seven games for the club and has not played since the 3rd October.

Now it is reported that he could be on his way out of the club, with his loan deal at risk of being terminated.

The Bristol Post is reporting that Robinson's future at the club is 'unclear' as Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill looks to bring in another loan player before the deadline next week.

The Aston Villa youngster is not the only man on loan in the west country. Simon Cox, Elliot Bennett, Liam Moore and fellow Villa man Nathan Baker are all currently with the club and goalkeeper Ben Hamer was sent back to Leicester City yesterday.

With no more than five loanees allowed in a matchday squad another arrival would see Robinson as the sixth man again - his future in doubt.

Villa will want the talented youngster, who has scored just once for City, playing regularly and it could be that a return to Villa and subsequently different loan location could be for the best.
