The forward says everyone is delighted for the young Tottenham star after his impressive start to the campaign.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Tottenham striker Harry Kane has discussed what he told teammate Dele Alli before his England debut.

The midfielder has started the season in excellent form for Spurs, quickly establishing himself in the first team.

It has been an impressive rise for the young midfielder considering he was playing in League One with MK Dons last season.

England manager Roy Hodgson has not missed his performances, with him quickly calling up the youngster to his senior England side.

He made his full debut against France on Tuesday evening, and Kane has opened up about the advice he gave his Tottenham teammate.

“He was outstanding,” he told tottenhamhotspur.com.

"I just told him beforehand to keep doing what he’s been doing all season at Spurs, to go out there and enjoy it, to show everyone what he can do and he did that.”

Alli was arguably the star of the show in the 2-0 win over the French, opening the scoring with a wonderful debut goal.

He was impressive in all aspects of his game though, as he put in a strong defensive display while also being a constant threat to the French defence throughout.

The display was just the latest in a number of big ones from Alli this season, and Kane says everyone at White Hart Lane is delighted for him.

"It was an incredible goal and I’m buzzing for him. He fully deserves it,” he added.

"He’s been great for the club this season and now he’s doing it for England as well. What a strike! We’re all delighted for him. He works so hard and the rewards are coming his way.”
