Bolton Wanderers favourite Stuart Holden jokes about signing contract at Macron

The USA international has been out of action since April 2013 through injury.

Times are tough for Bolton Wanderers. Facing financial meltdown off the pitch they are now fighting for their lives in the Championship relegation zone.

Bolton have struggled to put together a cohesive assault on promotion since they were relegated from the Premier League in 2012 despite, on paper, having a squad with the tools to do so.

One of the talented members of that squad was American international Stuart Holden.

Unfortunately the creative midfielder has had a miserable time with injuries in recent years. He has not played since April 2013, which was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, and has not played a single game in the 2014-15 or 2015-16 seasons.

This weekend he made light of his current situation on Twitter.

He was at Bolton's Macron Stadium over the weekend giving away a prize to a lucky Trotters fan when he was told by one fan to go in and sign a contract with the club. To which he responded, the doors were locked:

All jokes aside Holden is still working hard on a potential comeback and right now, a full fit Holden is just what Bolton would need.
