Tottenham reportedly invite 17-year-old Shilow Tracey to train with them

The Ebbsfleet United midfielder is said to have received a special invitation from Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have invited Ebbsfleet United teenager Shilow Tracey to train with them.

The 17-year-old has only played once for the non-league side but his talent has allegedly attracted plenty of interest from both the Premier League and the Championship.

According to the Mail, Tracey is also set to undergo a trial at Ipswich Town, while Stoke City, Crystal Palace and West Ham United are all said to be keeping a close eye on him.

The midfielder is currently plying his trade for Ebbsfleet academy but his performances there have clearly got him noticed and it seems only a matter of time before he moves on.

Tottenham may have a lot of competition for his signature but they have proved themselves to be one of the best clubs in the top flight in terms of bringing through young talent and giving them a first-team chance.

Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team is full of exciting young talent while the next generation – in the form of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Nathan Oduwa et al – are already not so much knocking on the proverbial door but forcing it ajar.

Only time will tell if Tracey joins them in North London, but there are plenty of reasons why he should.
